Apostroph online workshop: Post-editing isn’t witchcraft …

... If you know what to look out for. Luise Mugrauer, Apostroph’s Head of Vendor Management & Interpreting, ran an online workshop on post-editing for our internal and external language professionals.

Luise kicked off the workshop by explaining the basic principles of machine translation (MT). The second part of the workshop consisted of exploring the difference between light and full MT post-editing.

What are the challenges? How does MT post-editing differ from conventional comparative proofreading? The workshop concluded with the attendees rolling up their sleeves and having a go at post-editing on their own computers.

As a language service provider with Swiss quality standards, Apostroph applies the requirements of the ISO 18587 standard on post-editing machine translation. Client data is hosted exclusively on servers located in Switzerland (strictly in accordance with ISO 27001).

Freelancers unable to attend the workshop are invited to register for future sessions with our vendor management team at freelance@apostrophgroup.ch.
